The best nail colour for autumn days? Chàtaigne by Chanel, a deep brown that immediately recalls the warmth of cooked walnuts, the shine of wet foliage and the darkness of fall nights. The formula goes on smoothly without any issue, is creamy - sheer with the fist coat but totally opaque with the second one - and incredibly shiny, so much that wouldn’t it be for longevity it wouldn’t need a top coat at all.

What I love about Chàtaigne by Chanel is that it borders on black every now and then, becoming a great alternative to this classic shade: a little warmer, more wearable and definitely less harsh. 

L’autunno, da oggi, si indossa. In punta di dita, grazie a Le Vernis della collezione Les Automnales di Chanel e, prima fara tutti, la nuance Chàtaigne, un marrone profondissimo che riporta alla mente il calore delle castagne cotte sulla brace, la brillantezza delle foglie bagnate dalla pioggia e l’oscurità delle notti autunnali. 

La formula di Chàtaigne è semplicemente favolosa: si stende che è un piacere, è cremosa al punto giusto - tanto da diventare coprente con le classiche due passate - ed è talmente brillante che, se non fosse per motivi ovvii di durata e protezione, non richiederebbe l’aiuto del top coat. Si, Chàtaigne di Chanel mi ha conquistata e a farlo è stata anche la sua componente dark che, di tanto in tanto e in certe condizioni di luce, fa virare la nuance verso riflessi neri. Il che, lo rende un’ottima alternativa agli smalti black: più caldo, decisamente più portabile e assolutamente meno duro.
