Christian Louboutin creates an exclusive Nail Polish line

A volte i cerchi si chiudono, rivelando al mondo storie interessanti e risvolti che lo sono ancor di più. Così, Christian Louboutin torna alle origini e si butta nell’universo beauty creando una linea esclusiva di vernis à ongles ospitate in un packaging alto e appuntito che è più un oggetto di design che una boccetta di smalto.
Perché un ritorno alle origini? Per chi non lo sapesse, la famigerata suola rossa del designer francese nacque proprio da una mano di smalto rosso che lui stesso rubò a una sua assistente per rendere più accattivanti le sue creazioni.
Ecco quindi che, come riporta WWD, il suo Rouge Louboutin è stato svelato ieri in pochi e selezionati store americani. Il resto della collezione, che comprende ben 30 nuance, arriverà sugli scaffali USA il 6 di Agosto mentre in Europa sbarcherà agli inizi del mese. Per essere precisi, il primo di Agosto in Germania, Svizzera e Hong Kong; il 7 in Irlanda da Brown Thomas; il 14 in Inghilterra da Selfridges, Harrods e Harvey Nichols; il 25 a Milano da Antonia e, per concludere, il 10 Settembre in Middle East.
Con questa collezione Louboutin crea un vero e proprio total look per i piedi che va a definire in tre famiglie di colore: Pop, Nude e Noir. Il prezzo si posiziona in una fascia alta (50$), ma da Louboutin non potevamo aspettarci di meno, e il packaging, ammettiamolo, giustifica la spesa. Infatti è realizzato a mano e per fare ogni boccetta ci vogliono niente di meno che 22 giorni!

Believe it or not but Christian Louboutin is finally taking his first step into the beauty word with an exclusive line of nail polish housed in eye-catching, tall, spiky bottles. Back to the roots then because, if you weren’t aware, the whole varnish thing started back in 1992, when Louboutin himself stole a red polish form one of his assistants to paint the sole in order to make it more compelling. And now, as WWD reports, his own Rouge Louboutin enamel was unveiled in a few US select stores yesterday and will be definitely out on August 6th (waiting for the remaining 30 shades on August 31st) while in northen Europe it will arrive at the end of the month. To be more precise, the Rouge shade will make its debut in Germany, Switzerland and Hong Kong on August 1st; in Ireland’s Brown Thomas on August 7th; in the UK on the 14th with distribution at Selfridges, Harrods and Harvey Nichols; in Milan at Antonia’s on the 25th while the Middle East will get the polish on September 10th.
