Rouge Noir is now a makeup affair
Exult, Rouge Noir is no longer a nails’ exclusive. For this Christmas, Chanel is launching an incredible limited edition collection that evolves around the best selling nail colour of all the time, Chanel’s N.18 Rouge Noir, and makes it accessible to all the beauty look.
Think about lips. Ok it’s manageable, even exciting to dress them with this galvanizing vamp shade. Now take it to the other level, the eyes. Too gothic or rock? Never. Too chic-ish? Not even. It’s Chanel after all and its Makeup Creation Studio is able to put that iconic color all over your face.
In fact, what I love the most about the Rouge Noir Absolument Christmas 2015 Collection - a part from its nowness - is the fact that it is buildable in all its facets: eyes, lips, even nails got a layered makeover.
The Illusion D’ombre, for example, lends itself to an infinite shading game starting from an extremely wearable ruddy-toned bronzey eye look to the deeper shimmery blackened red one. Paired with the Crayon Khôl Intense Eye Pencil Rouge Noir - a great, off-black colour with undertones of blackened-purple-red - it makes a stunning combination that can be further took beyond with Le Volume in Rouge Noir a deep burgundy mascara that dress your lashes with a dark languid beauty. If you normally shy away from red shadows, keep in mind that this one is more of a tinted, smoky, sparkling off-black, a shade that really can flatter everyone.
Lips can be build up in the same way as the eyes with the stunning Rouge Allure in Rouge Noir, a sheer deep brown-red that is not too vampy nor gothic. It simply delivers its magic layer after layer and can get even stronger if topped with the Levres Scintillantes Glossimer in Etincelle, a fantastic cool-toned berry lipgloss with sparkles throughout.
To finish the look, the Joues Contraste Lumiere Highlighting Blush in 12 Coup de Minuit is in charge to light it up with an unearthly glow. You can use it on cheeks during the day for a subtle flush or as an highlighter on the cheekbones, brow bones, bridge of the nose, chin and cupid’s arch.
Last but not least, the nail polishes as mentioned before got a huge makeover. Firstly the N.18 Rouge Noir comes in a limited edition package that shows its iconic shade through the Maison double C on the top of the cap. Then, the Le Lame Top Coat Rouge Noir. This is a to-die-for piece. A collector’s one. And, as far as my memory goes, it is the first polish in which Chanel puts sparkles. And they did it beautifully, packing a tinted sheer top coat with golden shards of sparkle. Use it on top of Rouge Noir for a more festive twist (or to cover some imperfections) or use it alone for a nice and precious golden mani.
As Chanel described the shade, Rouge Noir is a “tool accessible to all women” and this Christmas collection is exactly the same: “It galvanizes all styles. Better yet, it injects them with a new power."
Rouge Noir, quel N.18 firmato Chanel, quella sfumatura inaspettata che fa incontrare il rosso e il nero, si reinventa in una collezione natalizia inedita - Rouge Noir Absolument - e dopo aver vissuto di gloria sulle unghie delle donne di tutto il mondo per ben vent’anni oggi si rende accessibile a tutto il makeup stravolgendone i codici, grazie all’audacia di un rosso granato scuro che (incredibilmente) dona a tutte.

E il merito non va solo alla sua poliedrica essenza e al suo essere estremamente attuale. Ciò che vi conquisterà di questa collezione sono le texture, modulabili in tutto e per tutto che, stato dopo strato, lusingano gli occhi, le labbra, ma anche le unghie, che per la prima volta chez Chanel ricevono un makeover a layers.
L’Illusion d’Ombre, per esempio, si presta a un gioco di sfumature infinite: un velo di ombretto rivela dei delicati riflessi rubino che virano al bronzo, mentre un’applicazione più audace trasforma il look in un brillante smoky lamé dai riflessi iridati. Per dare maggiore profondità allo sguardo, l’Illusion D’Ombre in Rouge Noir si abbina a perfezione con il Crayon Khôl Intense Eye Pencil in Rouge Noir - una matita unica, che vira dal burgundy al nero - e con Le Volume Rouge Noir un mascara bordeaux intenso che veste le ciglia di una languida bellezza.
Sulle labbra Rouge Allure in Rouge Noir, passata dopo passata, offre la stessa magia dell’Illusion D’Ombre, trasformandosi da un semplice velo di colore rosso cupo che si rivela in trasparenza a un rossetto nero-burgundy decisamente d’impatto.
Certo, penserete, un look fatto di sfumature del nero e del rosso può risultare un po’ too much, o limitarsi ad essere usato la sera. Bene, ricredetevi. Lo Studio di Creazione del Maquillage Chanel ha pensato proprio a tutto e ha creato un prodotto multitasking che illumina incarnato, sguardo e perché no anche le labbra con un bagliore ultraterreno. Questo “miracolo” si chiama Joues Contraste Lumière in Coup Minuit ed è un blush illuminante che accende qualsiasi cosa su cui si posi: sulle guance conferisce agli incarnati un delicato bagliore; su zigomi, arcata sopracciliare, punta del naso, mento e arco di Cupido lavora come un illuminante per un elegante effetto strobing; sull’incavo del décolleté e sulle spalle dona un tocco prezioso; applicato sulle palpebre risveglia anche gli sguardi più stanchi e usato come punto luce negli angoli interni degli occhi sconfigge con i suoi riflessi anche l’occhiaia più ostinata; picchiettato nel centro delle labbra dona volume e profondità. Un vero e proprio must-have insomma.
Last but not least, le mani. Vere protagoniste del look sin da quando il Rouge Noir fu portato in passerella 20 anni fa, si vestono di questa sfumatura unica e si impreziosiscono di bagliori dorati conferiti dal nuovo Le Top Coat Lamé Rouge Noir. Un pezzo da collezione. Uno smalto to-die-for. E per quanto indietro la mia memoria possa andare, è anche il primo smalto in cui Chanel mette qualche brillantino. E ovviamente lo ha fatto in modo esclusivo, riempiendo un top coat traslucido con scintille dorate. Usatelo dopo il Rouge Noir per un tocco più festoso (o per coprire alcune imperfezioni) o utilizzatelo da solo per una delicata manicure dorata.
Come Chanel descrisse questa tonalità, Rouge Noir è un "strumento accessibile a tutte le donne", e questa collezione di Natale la rispecchia perfettamente: “Galvanizza tutti gli stili. Meglio ancora, li inietta con un nuovo potere. "
