All about street vibes at Alexandre Wang SS2016
Back to the streets, back to the feelings and style of when Alexander Wang started. This was the briefing for the SS2016 beauty look, something that Diane Kendal for NARS Cosmetics, Guido Palau and manicurist Michelle Saunders translated in a row vibe: “the girls are meant to kind of look as they are, with a little bit of grooming but nothing ‘done’” as the makeup-pro said.
Hero of this pared-down look is NARSskin Luminous Moisture Cream that was used along with a small dab of concealer where needed. Everything was about cleaning up skin and, of course, brushing and filling in brows for a more groomed look. But what was basically in the spotlight was the style and the individuality of every each model.
Nails were equally simple and Michelle Saunders for Essie created a matte look for both hands and feet using Essie Cocktails and Coconuts and Matte About You. The result is a natural fleshy color that perfectly matched the short-boyish nails of the models.
On the counterpart, if makeup was kept easy, Guido Palau working for Redken had no restrain in cutting models’ hair in very extreme fashions as blunt bobs and short bangs.
