Strobing is the new Contouring

If you are wondering about all that fuss around strobing, well, let me tell you that is nothing more than a fancy new trend name for what most of us have already come to know as highlighting or dewy skin. But in beauty terms, strobing is definitely a new (and subtler) way to accentuate the face without the time-consuming application of contour. Indeed, the idea of strobing is to highlight the high points on your face—the places where the light should catch - with a creamy or powdery highlighter (or with a moisturizer or dewy foundation) and the outcome is the illusion of high cheekbones and strong features along with a glowing finish that makes your skin look radiant, younger and healthier.

Just keep in mind that if you have oily skin or a round shaped face maybe strobing is not exactly what you are looking for, it would just catch too much light!

Se vi state chiedendo che cosa sia tutto questo chiasso intorno alla parola strobing, lasciatevi dire che non è altro che un nuovo nome di tendenza per definire ciò che molti di noi già conoscono come highlighting o pelle dewy. Eppure, questo strobing, sta facendo scalpore e andando in controtendenza al contouring, va a definire una tecnica nuova, più discreta e decisamente più veloce di accentuare i tratti del viso. Non per niente, l'idea di strobing è proprio quella di fare il contrario del contouring, ossia di evidenziare le parti più sporgenti del viso - quelle che per prime catturano la luce - con un illuminatore in crema o in polvere (o con un idratante o un fondotinta dewy), creando così l’illusione di zigomi molto più alti alti e di tratti decisi andando inoltre ad aggiungere un tocco di glow che rende la pelle radiosa, più giovane e dall’aspetto più sano.
Dite addio quindi alle lunghe ed elaborate tecniche di contouring. Strobing è la tendenza più facile a cui vorrete allinearvi quest’estate e perché no, magari anche il prossimo inverno. D’atra parte a tutti piace essere perfette in pochi gesti ma, badate bene, se avete la pelle grassa o un viso tondo evitate lo strobing. Non ne guadagnereste altro che assomigliare a una palla stroboscopia, da cui, tra l’altro la tendenza prende proprio il nome. Per tutte le altre, un unico consiglio: andateci piano e con mano leggera!
