A bold eyeliner

Wednesday I told you about the reverse cat eye and today I would like to introduce you to another take on the eyeliner, always geometric but definitely bolder: the triangle.

Perfect for those who like me has a hooded eyelid this make-up is pure graphic and I totally love it.

To make the eyes stand out it is fundamental to keep the skin perfect and flawless. I used Charlotte Tilbury’s Light Wonder foundation in (4) Fair to even out the tone, then I concealed any redness with Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage and I used Bobbi Brown’s Tinted Eye Brightener under the eyes and over the lips to keep them neutral. Then I used Charlotte Tilbury’s Cheek to Chic blusher to get a youthful flush.

Now, the eyes. Unlike the reverse cat eye, here I choose Bobbi Brown’s Long-wear Gel Eyeliner because thanks to its gel formula it is easier to apply and it lasts longer. I started drawing an elongated and exaggerated shape using a dashing technique, starting from the inner corner of the eye, all along the upper lash line, up towards the eyebrow and eventually closing the triangle following the crease. Then I filled up the lid applying over and over the gel eyeliner. To make the contour perfect and to clean up any mistakes I used a Q-tip soaked in Bioderma Sensibio. Then I added intensity using Eyeko Eye Do Liquid Liner over the top. No mascara is needed in this look, it would be too much.

The secret is to exaggerate the triangle toward the end of the lashline so the line doesn't get lost in the eye fold. To complete the look I groomed the eye brows with Charlotte Tilbury’s Brow Lift in Cara D, an incredible 3 in 1 pencil that shapes, lifts and adds definition. It is my favorite brows pencil so far.

Mercoledì scorso vi ho spiegato come ricreare il cat-eye ribaltato visto sulla passerella della PE 2014 di Missoni e oggi, per completare il discorso sulla nuova tendenza geometrica che si sta delineando sull’orizzonte eyeliner, voglio introdurvi un altro look decisamente più bold e d’impatto: il triangolo.

Un trucco che non vi farà di certo passare inosservate ma che richiede precisione, mano ferma e un incarnato perfetto che faccia da cornice silenziosa agli occhi. Per preparare la base ho usato il fondotinta Light Wonder di Charlotte Tilbury, una nuova formula leggerissima che illumina, idrata, perfeziona e minimizza pori e rughe nello stesso momento. Dove non è riuscito lui ho chiamato in causa il Secret Camouflage di Laura Mercier che ha cancellato imperfezioni e rossori. Sotto gli occhi ho invece applicato il Tinted Eye Brightener di Bobbi Brown che ho poi usato anche sulle labbra per renderle il più neutre possibile. Alle guance ho donato un rossore leggero grazie al blusher Cheek to Chic di Charlotte Tilbury.

Finita la base sono passata agli occhi. Contrariamente al cat-eye al contrario, qui ho preferito usare un eyeliner in gel, il Long-wear Gel Eyeliner di Bobbi Brown, in quanto la sua formula è più facile da applicare e di norma dura di più di quella di un eyeliner liquido. 

Per iniziare ho tratteggiato una forma triangolare, lunga ed esagerata, partendo dall’angolo interno dell’occhio, continuando lungo la rima delle ciglia fino a quello esterno, allungando poi il tratto in sù verso le sopracciglia e chiudendolo assecondando la piega della palpebra. Finita la forma ho riempito la palpebra applicando l’eyeliner strato su strato fino ad ottenere un nero intenso. Per eliminare qualsiasi sbavo e per perfezionare la virgola ho usato un cottofioc imbevuto di Bioderma Sensibio. Infine per rendere il nero ancora più profondo ho passato l’Eye Do Liquid Liner di Eyeko sopra il tutto e ho evitato di applicare il mascara per non appesantire lo sguardo.

Per completare il look ho definito le sopracciglia con la Brow Lift in Cara D di Charlotte Tilbury, la matita per sopracciglia che preferisco in assoluto.

Ricordatevi, il segreto per ottenere la forma perfetta sta nell’enfatizzare il triangolo verso la fine delle ciglia in modo che non si perda nella piega dell’occhio!
