È Vodka on the Rocks by Kilian, un opera più che un profumo, una costruzione olfattiva che scava nelle memorie più oscure, ingenue, ludiche aprendo un universo inaspettatamente familiare, energico, conciliante. Al primo spruzzo Vodka on the Rocks richiama (incredibilmente) quel momento in cui la bocca si avvicina al bicchiere di ghiaccio pieno di Vodka, alla sensazione stridente delle labbra che si bagnano della sua forza intrinseca. Sembra quasi di berlo quel bicchiere, basta chiudere gli occhi. Ed è proprio quando si crede che il profumo creato dal naso francese Sidonie Lancesseur sia troppo freddo, troppo acido, troppo tagliente che il suo cuore si apre, amaro, leggermente vellutato, sempre alcolico ed euforizzante, proprio come lo spirito che scende giù per la gola. Vodka on the Rocks è un sillage stupefacente, le note (poche e concise come si confà a Sidonie Lancesseur) non hanno niente a che vedere con lo spirito russo, il naso francese ha combinato aldeidi, cardamomo e coriandolo per far partire la fragranza con un piglio netto e d’impatto, per poi aggiungere un accordo di rabarbaro unito a note di rosa e mughetto per dare alla composizione quel piglio euforizzante del cuore e per chiudere, infine, il tutto con note più stabili quali ambroxan, muschio di quercia e sandalo.

No doubt, it’s alcoholic, but is not supposed to be drunk (or to get you drunk). It’s Vodka on the Rocks by Kilian, an olfactory construction that digs up the darkest, playful and even most naive memories, opening an unexpectedly familiar, energetic and conciliating universe. The first spray of Vodka on the Rocks recalls (incredibly) that moment when your mouth comes close to the glass full of ice and vodka, that jarring sensation of the lips that bathe in its inherent strength. Close your eyes and you will get the idea of having a sip. And just when you think that the fragrance created by the french nose Sidonie Lancesseur is too cold, too acid and even too sharp its heart opens, bitter, slightly velvety, more alcoholic and euphoric, just like the spirit that goes down the throat. In the end the feeling of intoxication, solid and warm, envelopes the senses obfuscating the mind.

Vodka on the Rocks is an amazing sillage, the notes (few and concise as befits Sidonie Lancesseur) have nothing to do with the Russian spirit as the French nose combined aldehydes, cardamom and coriander to start the fragrance with a sharp and bold character, then added rhubarb combined with rose and lily of the valley to give to the composition that euphoric twist and, at the end, closed the pyramid with a sense of stability given by ambroxan, oak moss and sandalwood.
Created in 2012 and distributed exclusively in Russia and in New York, on October 15 Vodka on the Rocks will also be available in Italy. I have already been won over by this scent in 2012 in the Big Apple, and you, will you surrender to its temptation?
