La riviera, la costa azzurra, l’estate. La collezione Cruise 2016 parla di tutto questo, è una fuga colorata verso orizzonti più leggeri. Una limited edition che punta i riflettori su labbra e unghie che, come mi spiega Davide Frizzi - International Make-up artist della Maison Dior - sono sempre il focus delle collezioni estive. “Gli smalti creano tendenza, diventano un accessorio di moda, i rossetti invece identificano la femminilità, sono irrinunciabili”. Bando però agli abbinamenti matchy-matchy, sono un retaggio degli anni Novanta che vogliamo dimenticare, oggi ci vuole un “casual studiato che fa subito glamour”. È quel tocco di nonchalance di cui ognuna di noi avrebbe bisogno, quell’effortless chic che rivoluziona un look. Un po’ come fa Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet quando si posa sulla pelle di una donna, la avvolge sottilmente, completando la sua identità.
Ma torniamo a noi e al focus di questa collezione Cruise. I colori degli smalti riprendono i colori della Riviera - l’Azur del mare e del cielo, il verde smeraldo Bay della vegetazione, il rosa Dolce Vita delle buganvillee, il lavanda Regatta dei campi in fiore - e si applicano senza logica, secondo il mood, neanche fossero l’accessorio moda per antonomasia (ma ammettiamolo, ormai è cosi, e ci piace pure). I rossetti Dior Addict, come ci spiega Davide, sono invece “l’espressione dei fiori. La trasparenza di Dream richiama la sfumatura dei fiori del mandorlo, Wave si rifà ai petali della Rosa di Grasse, al loro rosa vibrante e vellutato che visto in controluce è quasi trasparente.” Proprio come il finish dei Dior Addict, modulabile, sheer, eppure sempre e comunque d’impatto. “E il bello di queste nuances della Collezione Cruise 2016 Riviera è il loro effetto giocoso. È una bocca da mordere, non strutturata. Easy. Dà un senso di libertà.” Proprio come l’estate richiede.
Ma se volessimo ottenere di più da questi rossetti ludici, soprattutto se abbiamo labbra naturalmente iperpigmentate?
“Basta usare il Fix-It, annulla il colore della mucosa labiale e la prepara a ricevere al meglio il rossetto”.
E l’estate, richiedere regole particolari nell’applicazione del lipstick?
“Le labbra vanno idratate come la pelle. Devono essere sempre preparate. La mia regola d’applicazione - e in questo sono particolarmente ferreo - sta nel pizzicottare il Lip Maximizer sul contorno della mucosa labiale per levigarla e rimpolparla, poi nello stendere il Lip Glow per idratare e nello strofinare le labbra fra di loro. Poi, se voglio valorizzare il rossetto, uso Fix-It, se voglio invece valorizzare la bocca applico SkinFlash che crea un sottile controcontorno delle labbra (come un microneon) che le subito mette in evidenza.”
Come scegliere un colore di rossetto da questa collezione?
“Le labbra parlano, mettono in comunicazione proprio come gli occhi. Per questo quando si sceglie un rossetto bisogna sapersi ascoltare, rappresentano una parte intima della donna. E la scelta del colore dipende da quanto si vuole rendere il sorriso seducente. Il rosa incornicia la bocca in modo discreto e romantico, il rosso è più audace e femminile ma bisogna sentirsici a proprio agio, è una questione di attitude. Il corallo è il tono più seducente, è molto d’impatto e di tendenza ma bisogna saperlo portare. Un requisito fondamentale per sfoggiare un rossetto aranciato è l’aver la pelle fresca, altrimenti appesantisce”.
E come si può ottenere un incarnato fresco e glowy?
“Prima del make-up, si parte dal trattamento. Tutto ciò che è idratante è da usare, infatti Hydralife è il sostegno perfetto alla Collezione Riviera. Il siero Sérum Sorbet Pro-Jeunesse si può usare anche sotto i solari, la crema idratante Crème Sorbet Pro-Jeunesse la sera. La Jelly Sleeping Mask di routine due volte alla settimana, ma aiuta anche dopo l’esposizione al sole, smorza il rossore e lenisce. Cosi facendo la pelle è piena, turgida, distesa.”
In termini di makeup invece?
“La base deve essere fresca. Si può usare SkinFlash per illuminare e la BB Cream (in crema o gel a seconda della pelle) per uniformare. D’estate consiglio l’uso della BB Cream Hydralife in quanto i pigmenti sono più beige rispetto a quelli della gamma Nude, più rosati quindi più adatti all’inverno. Poi, la terra deve sposare il colore naturale della pelle ed essere di un solo tono in più. Inoltre non bisogna mai stenderla piatta, ma sempre e solo per scolpire, tirando fuori i volumi del viso.”
Un ultima domanda, quali sono i prodotti must per affrontare l’estate?
“Devo essere stringato o posso riempire un beauty case?”
Riempi pure!
“Idratazione come trattamento, come abbiamo appena detto. Mascara, sempre, anche in spiaggia. Polveri per valorizzare, rossetti e smalti perché mani, piedi e bocca sono i protagonisti dell’estate. Fard assolutamente e un profumo, per un’ulteriore percezione di piacevolezza.”
Il profumo che per lei fa più Côte D’Azur?
"Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet, per la sua eccellente piramide olfattiva che ricrea l’imprendibile anima della peonia (fiore troppo delicato per essere estratto) grazie all’abbinamento della Rosa Damascena con le note fruttate di Albicocca e Pesca. È un fiorito-fruttato in cui i muschi bianchi giocano un ruolo fondamentale: ovattano e rendono la fragranza cotonosa, sottilmente avvolgente, esaltano le note di cuore e vivacizzando la partenza agrumata."
Detto ciò, non so se l’avete capito, ma quest’estate il bagaglio a mano è fuori discussione.

Dior’s Cruise 2016 makeup collection is all about this, is a colorful escape towards cheerful horizons, a limited edition that puts the spotlight on lips and nails which, as Davide Frizzi - International Make-up artist for the House of Dior - suggests, are always the focus of summer collections. “Nail polishes create trends and become a fashion accessories; lipsticks instead identify femininity, are inalienable." But no matchy matchy please, such combinations are a legacy we all want to forget, nowadays a “studied casual that immediately makes glamour" is on top, is that touch of nonchalance we all need, that effortless chic that revolutionizes a look. A little bit how Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet does when sprayed on the skin of a woman, it subtly envelops her completing her identity.
But, back to us and the focus of this Riviera Cruise 2016 collection. The nuances of the nail polishes are inspired by the colors of the French Riviera (the light-blue Azur of sea and sky, the emerald Bay of vegetation, the pink Dolce Vita of bougainvilleas, the lilac Regatta of blooming lavender fields) and must all be applied without logic, according to the mood, like proper fashion accessories. The Dior Addict lipsticks, as Davide explains, are "the expression of the flowers. The transparency of Dream draws the shade from almond blossom, Wave refers to the petals of the Rose of Grasse, to their vibrant and velvety pink that seen against the light is almost transparent." Just like the finish of Dior Addict lipsticks (I dare say), modular, sheer, yet always bold. "And the beauty of these nuances of the Riviera Cruise Collection 2016 is their playful side. It's a mouth to bite, it’s unstructured and easy. It gives a sense of freedom."Just as the summer requires.
But if we want to get out more from these playful lipsticks, especially if our lips are naturally hyper pigmented?
“Use Fix-It, it cancels the color of lips and prepares the base to receive the lipstick in a professional way”.
Does summer require special rules in the application of lipstick?
“Lips are to be moisturized as skin is. They should always be prepared. My rule of application - and in this I’m particularly strict - rely in pinching the Lip Maximizer on the lips contour to smooth and plump it, and then in applying the Lip Glow all over to moisturize, followed by rubbing the lips for better absorption. Then, if I want the lipstick to stand out I call in the Fix-It, on the other hand if I want to enhance the mouth I apply the SkinFlash, it creates a thin lip counter-contour (like a micro neon) that immediately highlights”.
How to choose a lipstick color from this collection?
“Lips talk, they put in communication just as the eyes. So when you choose a lipstick you must listen to your inner self, they are an intimate part of women. And the choice of color depends on how much you want your smile to be seductive. Pink frames the mouth in a discreet and romantic way, red is more daring and feminine but you have to be at ease wit it, it is a matter of attitude. Coral is the most seductive tone, is very bold and trendy but you must know how to pull it off. A key requirement is to have fresh skin.”.
And how can you get this fresh (and glowy) complexion?
“Starting with the right skincare treatment. Moisturizing is all you need, that’s why Hydralife is the perfect support to the Riviera collection. The Serum Sorbet Pro-Jeunesse is intended for a day wear and can be used even under sunscreen, the Sorbet Creme Pro-Jeunesse in the evening. The Jelly Sleeping Mask as a twice a week beauty routine, but it also helps after sun exposure to soften and soothe redness. Just by keeping up with this moisturizing routine skin is plumped, brighter and relaxed. "
In terms of makeup, instead?
"The base has to be fresh. You can use SkinFlash to illuminate and a BB Cream (in cream or gel depending on the skin type) to even out. In summer I advice the use of Hydralife BB Cream since the pigments are more beige than those of the Nude range which tend to a rosé shade thus are more suited for wintertime. Then, the bronzer must match the natural color of the skin and be one shade darker. Also you should never apply it flat, but only to sculpt, pulling out the volumes of the face. "
One last question, what are the must-have products for summer?
“Do I have to be brief or I can fill a beauty case in?”
Fill it, please!
"Hydration as a treatment, as we just said. Mascara, always, even at the beach. Powders to enhance, lipsticks and nail polishes because hands, feet and mouth are the protagonists of summer. Blush, absolutely and a perfume, for a further perception of pleasantness."
The scent that, in your opinion, makes Cote D'Azur?
Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet, for its excellent olfactory pyramid that recreates the elusive soul of peony (a flower too delicate to be extracted) by combining the Damask Rose with fruity notes of Apricot and Peach. It is a fruity-floral scent in which white mosses play a fundamental role: muffle and make the fragrance cottony, subtly enveloping, and moreover exalt the heart notes and animate the citrus start.
That said, I do not know if you realized, but this summer an hand-luggage is out of question.
