Surprising is an evergreen, chez Chanel, and for the Fall 2019 makeup collection Lucia Pica exceeded our expectations by creating Noir et Blanc de Chanel, a ground-breaking line-up of products that are either black or white or recalls the shades of light and dark.

What you should know about the Noir et Blanc de Chanel makeup collection? That these two absolute are not so minimal as we might think and lend themself to the creation of sophisticated effortless look, this because each product is so easy to use and even multitasking. After all, this was one of the fist skills that Lucia showed us, she is formidable in humanizing even the most challenging product, something that might scare at first but that, as soon as, touches the skin reveal itself as the easiest thing ever.

Black lipstick? She proposes it in a gloss version (Rouge Coco) that is beautifully buildable and that can be used alone or as a top coat.

Simple and complex, Noir et Blanc de Chanel also shows all those unexpected nuances that two simple colors can give. And this does not mean all the shades of gray, but talks about the way in which the nuances change with the light or how the light changes us.

Example for excellence? The two Rouge Allure Velvet Extrême: Rose Nocturne describes a matte deep pink, a nuance that can be easily seen in the Tuilieres gardens when the darkness envelops the petals of its flowers; Rouge Obscur, on the other hand, is an intense bordeaux that tells a different story, more sensual and intriguing, that of lips tinged with red wine at nightfall.

And if Les 4 Ombres in Noir Suprême (try the texture of the palette, it is amazingly creamy yet powdery yet easy to apply and build up) represents all those urban nuances of which Paris is tinged with the warmth of the sun - copper brown, gray with purple accents, burgundy burgundy, deep brown - the Gel Pailleté, a transparent and luminous gel, gives the face and to the body those reflections of light which can be enjoyed by observing the Seine.

With Noir et Blanc de Chanel Lucia offers us multitasking-ness and easiness of use and it is also for this reason that, in my opinion, she defines this collection as a manifesto of the contemporary woman. It is resoluteness but also creativity, it is boldness and simplicity, it is the story of two absolutes that are declined depending on how you want to see them.

Che cosa c’è da sapere su Noir et Blanc de Chanel? Che i due assoluti protagonisti, di minimal non hanno poi così tanto e che per quanto possano sembrare audaci tradotti in makeup, grazie all’abilità di Lucia di umanizzare anche il prodotto più bold, si prestano benissimo alla creazione di look sofisticati ed effortless. Il rossetto nero? Lucia ce lo propone in versione (Rouge Coco) gloss, modulabile, da usare da solo o come top coat. I glitter? Gli Ombre Première Top Coat si stratificano per dare un tocco di luce o si usano puri per un effetto watery. L’ombretto nero? Quello che ha creato per la palette Les 4 Ombres Modern Glamour ha una texture talmente modulabile che è difficile sbagliare. L’eyeliner bianco? Il suo strizza l’occhio al grooming e si usa per cancellare la stanchezza e aprire lo sguardo. Lo smalto bianco e lo smalto nero? Ce li offre in formule che si possono applicare facilmente anche a casa.

I due Rouge Allure Velvet Extrême: Rose Nocturne descrive un rosa profondo e mat, una nuance che si può facilmente vedere ai giardini Tuilieres quando il buio avvolge i petali dei suoi fiori; Rouge Obscur invece è un bordeaux intenso che racconta una storia diversa, più sensuale e intrigante, quella di labbra che si tingono di vino rosso al calare della notte.

E se Les 4 Ombres in Noir Suprême (provate la texture, vi conquisterà per la sua cremosità strabiliante) rappresenta tutte quelle sfumature urbane di cui si tinge Parigi al calore del sole - marrone rame, grigio dagli accenti viola, bordeaux granato, marrone profondo - il Gel Pailleté, un gel trasparente e luminoso, regala al viso e al corpo quei riflessi di luce di cui si può godere osservando la Senna.

Con Noir et Blanc de Chanel Lucia ci regala la facilità d’uso ma ci serve anche su un piatto d’argento il multitasking (indispensabile per le donne di oggi); è anche per questo che, secondo me, definisce questa collezione come un manifesto della donna contemporanea. È risolutezza ma anche creatività, è audacia e semplicità, è la storia di due assoluti che si declinano a seconda di come li si vuole vedere.
