È un’opera d’arte nata per sopravvivere nei secoli e per inserirsi in ogni modernità, è un vero patrimonio olfattivo che fa della sua impeccabile costruzione un’ispirazione costante. La formula di Chanel Nº5 si presta ad essere reinterpretata, è un DNA che si evolve senza mai perdere il suo carattere. Oggi, dopo l’indefinibile perfezione dell’originale Nº5 in Extrait e Eau De Toilette, la preziosità dell’Eau de Parfum e la luminosa delicatezza dell'Eau Première, Nº5 L’EAU si impone nell’avvenire con un’inedita e assoluta fluidità.

Ma che cos’è Nº5 L’EAU per l’erede alla direzione della Parfumerie Chanel? L’ho scoperto con lui, fra le rose di maggio dei campi di Grasse, nella purezza di un laboratorio tirato a lucido ma soprattutto in una piacevole chiacchierata durante la cena per il lancio della sua creazione.
L’interpretazione
“Il Nº5, per la sua concettuale costruzione, si presta ad essere reinterpretato.”
Prendete un profumo che ha fatto la storia, che vive a fior di pelle di generazione dopo generazione, che ne scandisce la memoria. Ora pensate di dover dare vita a una sua nuova versione, a qualcosa di più moderno che si inserisca nella contemporaneità con un'eleganza discreta, senza stravolgere la firma olfattiva originale ma contestualizzandosi nell'oggi, nell'epoca dei rapporti fluidi, della trasparenza in tutto e per tutto. Non sareste un po’ nervosi?
Oliver Polge ha affrontato questa missione a testa alta, a rigor di logica ma con un piglio estremamente essenziale e proiettato nell’avvenire, regalandoci la quinta opera d'arte del Nº5 che coglie l’essenza del nostro tempo con sensibilità, eleganza ed estrema discrezione.

La costruzione olfattiva
“L’ispirazione è stato Chanel Nº5. È un modo semplice di dirlo ma è la verità.”
Come un soffio di freschezza sulla pelle le note di testa si concentrano sulle aldeidi agrumate, quelle di cuore, invece, rivelano l’anima floreale dell’originale N.5 ma si differenziano per proporzione facendosi più concrete. La Rosa di Maggio - protagonista assoluta de L’EAU - svela una morbidezza inedita, il gelsomino si alleggerisce, si fa ossigenato, lo ylang ylang mette l’accento sulle sue note più verdi (isolate da Oliver Polge grazie a uno speciale processo di distillazione). È un esercizio di freschezza e fluidità che si conferma anche nel fondo dove, cedro e vetiver accompagnano il sandalo dell’originale Nº5 rendendo il tutto più pétillant e vibrante.

But what is Nº5 L’EAU for the heir to the direction of Chanel Parfumerie? I had the unique opportunity to discover it with him in the May Roses fields in Grasse, in the purity of a white lab but especially in a pleasant chat during the gala dinner for the launch of his creation.
The interpretation

Take a scent that has made history, that lives in the olfactory memory of every generation. Now think about creating a new version of it, something that can fit into the contemporaneity with a discreet elegance, without changing the original olfactory signature but contextualizing it in the present, in the era of fluid relationships, of the transparency in everything and for everything. Wouldn’t you be a bit nervous?
Oliver Polge has faced this mission head up, logically but with an extremely essential twist projected into the future, gifting us with the fifth Nº5 art work that captures the essence of our time with sensitivity, elegance and extreme discretion.

The olfactory construction
"The inspiration was Chanel Nº5. It is a simple way to say it, but true."
Like a puff of freshness on the skin, the top notes focus on citrus aldehydes, those of the heart, instead, reveal the floral soul of the original Nº5 but differ in proportion to become more concrete. The May Rose - absolute protagonist of Nº5 L'EAU - reveals an unusual softness, the jasmine is lightened, becomes oxygenated, the ylang ylang focuses on its greenest notes (isolated by Oliver Polge with a special distillation process). It is an exercise of freshness and fluidity that is proven once again in the base notes where cedar and vetiver accompany the original Nº5 sandal making it more vibrant and pétillant.

Nº5 L’EAU is a disarming fragrance. Absolutely pure. Totally smooth. And transparent, both in the soul and in the appearance. "I wanted that Nº5 L’EAU appeared as clear as water."
