Sulle passerelle della PE 2014, l’arancio è stato il colore di punta e, oltre a conquistare la pole position sugli abiti ha sedotto anche i make-up artist, che ne hanno fatto il protagonista di labbra accattivanti.

Alla ricerca della tonalità perfetta, i guru internazionali del trucco si sono dati da fare e, se qualcuno ha trovato la sfumatura voluta nel suo beauty case (e che beauty case), qualcun’altro ha dovuto mischiare insieme diversi prodotti per raggiungere l’effetto desiderato.

Da Rag&Bone, infatti, per creare un’arancio neon a regola d’arte, il direttore artistico di Revlon Gucci Westerman ha combinato il ColorBurst Matte Balm in Mischievous con il Super Lustrous Lipstick in Carnival. Da DKNY, invece, Charlotte Willer ha mixato il Color Sensational Vivid Lipstick di Maybelline in Electric Orange con quello in Neon Red, che ha poi tamponato con un fazzoletto per ottenere un risultato opaco e delicatamente stinto.

Oltre al mix and match, sulle passerelle della PE 2014 si è potuto osservare un altro interessante fatto: l’uso dello stesso prodotto per mano di diversi make-up artist. Da Dsquared, dove il vibe Anni Cinquanta ha dominato, Charlotte Tilbury, dopo aver portato all’estremo la forma delle labbra in perfetto stile pin-up con la matita Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in What a Blast!, ha dipinto le labbra delle modelle con il Lipstick in Morange di Mac, stesso rossetto che ha poi usato Val Garland da MSGM, intensificandone il colore con il MAC Pro Lipmix in Orange - una cream opaca iperpigmenta - che, (ridete) è stata riutilizzata dalla stessa Charlotte Tilbury da Prabal Gurung. Quando si dice “great minds think alike”…

Infine bocche vitaminiche si sono viste anche da John Galliano e Dennis Basso. Sulla prima passerella hanno sfilato in versione bright e matte, mentre nella seconda si è vista una tinta più sul rosso e satinata.

On the SS2014 runways, orange was the it color, especially on lips. Every make-up pro was looking for the perfect hot shade and while someone found it ready to use in his stash, some others had to mix different products to achieve what they had in mind. Speaking of the latter, at Rag&Bone Gucci Westerman blended Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Mischievous with Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Carnival for a neon pout that packed a punch.

At DKNY to create the perfect electric hybrid, makeup artist Charlotte Willer mixed Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lipstick in Electric Orange and Neon Red together and then she blotted with a tissue for a matte, stain-like effect.

A part from mixing, another interesting thing came about on the SS14 runways: two different make-up gurus played with the exact same products. At Dsquared, where the ’50 vibe was ruling, Charlotte Tilbury filled in the pout with MAC Lipstick in Morange (after exaggerating the corners of the lips with Mac Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in What a Blast!) and the same lipstick used at MSGM by Val Garland. To amp up the intensity Val finished with MAC Pro Lipmix, a deeply pigmented opaque cream in the Orange shade that (lol) was used at Prabal Gurung by Charlotte Tilbury again… Well, great minds think alike.

Last but not least at John Galliano a bright matte orange took the centre stage while at Dennis Basso they opted for a reddish shade in a satin finish.
