Blue is New

Make-up pros made it clear: the colour of the season is blue. Either it is declined in azure, sapphire, aqua or cobalt and it is applied in bold blocks or in flashy lines, blue is definitely new.

Le passerelle non lasciano spazio a dubbi: il colore della stagione è il blu. Protagonisti gli occhi che vedono le sue tonalità dell’acqua, del turchese, del cobalto e dell’azzurro prendere forma in forme grafiche e bold, in nuvole di colore più soft o addirittura in linee flashy che delineano i contorni.

The bob: wigs on the catwalks, faux on the red carpets.

When it comes to hair it is difficult to say fake it till you make it. At least, until now. This season has seen a huge come back of the bob and the bright side is that it doesn’t require any cut. Yes, right. On the catwalks designers created custom made wigs while on the red carpets hairstylists did their very best to master the perfect faux-bob.

Fake it till you make it. Un mantra per le beauty addicted. Un sottile imbroglio che si applica tanto bene all’universo del make-up quanto poco a quello dei capelli. Almeno fino ad oggi. Questa stagione, infatti, vede un grande ritorno del bob senza però che sia veramente reale: dalle passerelle ai red carpet tutti hanno imbrogliato e, se c’è stato chi ha creato parrucche a regola d’arte, c’è anche chi ci ha dato dentro con lacca e forcine.

Punchy Orange Lips

On the SS2014 runways, orange was the it color, especially on lips. Every make-up pro was looking for the perfect hot shade and while someone found it ready to use in his stash, some others had to mix different product to achieve what they had in mind.

Sulle passerelle della PE 2014, l’arancio è stato il colore di punta e, oltre a conquistare la pol position sugli abiti ha sedotto anche i make-up artist, che ne hanno fatto il protagonista di labbra accattivanti. Alla ricerca della tonalità perfetta i guru internazionali del trucco si sono dati da fare e se qualcuno ha trovato la sfumatura perfetta nel suo beauty case (e che beauty case), qualcun’altro ha dovuto mischiare insieme diversi prodotti per raggiungere l’effetto desiderato.

The new black line

Forget the classic cat eyeliner, this spring is all about reinventing the line and taking it to a whole new statement level: geometric sometimes, graphic for certain, angular shaped or reversed, bold and daring or even minimalist. The Raw

"Raw" is the buzzword for next season. Minimalism beauty reigned supreme during the SS14 Fashion Weeks and piled on make-up was replaced by dewy moisturizers, ointments and illuminators.

Nude e crude. È così che ci vuole la prossima stagione. Addio quindi a strati di make-up che saranno rimpiazzati (finalmente) da idratanti, olii e basi illuminanti.
