La settimana della moda Newyorkese è finita e nonostante il ghiaccio abbia permeato le strade della città la creatività nei backstage è finalmente tornata in moto e, dopo due stagioni di no make-up make-up look, si sono incredibilmente visti pigli creativi sotto forma di eyeliner strutturati, colori su occhi, labbra ma anche capelli e addirittura qualche glitter qua e là.
New York Fashion Week is over and despite the icy cold that permeated the streets of the city, creative minds were at work and, after two seasons of no make-up make-up look, they did their best to show something new and daring in the form of graphic eyeliner, color on eyes, lips and even hair and also some glitter here and there!
Certo i look au naturel non si sono dati per vinti e che fossero interpretati nel modo più nudo possibile come da BCBG Max Azria, Tibi, Vera Wang, Lacoste e Misha Nonoo o con un vibe Anni Novanta che strizza l’occhio al grunge come da Wes Gordon o ancora in versione sun-kissed come da Hervé Léger poco importa, ciò che conta è che gli incarnati appaiano nudi e le labbra neutre. Solo agli occhi è stato concesso un minimo di definizione, come la sottile linea di Desigual.
For sure natural looks have not given up and, keeping the complexion as nude as possible and lips totally bare, they were seen at BCBG Max Azria, Tibi, Vera Wang, Lacoste and Misha Nonoo. For a more modern twist on it, at Wes Gordon the nude-look was more grungy while at Hervé Léger it was translated in a sun-kissed complexion. A thin line of definition to the eyes, as seen at Desigual, broke the balance and opened to a new horizon of graphic elements.

A far perdere la testa alle beauty editor di tutto il globo sono stati poi i look visti da Rodarte, Carolina Herrera, Reem Acra e Dalpozo dove, incredibile ma vero, gli occhi hanno brillato di luce riflessa precisamente grazie a una linea di cristallo Swarovski, ciglia impreziosite da glitter argentati che vogliono richiamare gocce di rugiada e palpebre ricoperte da pigmenti d’oro. Tocchi di luce per un inverno più rigido di questo? Chissà, ciò che è certo è che finalmente si è tornati ad osare.
The most captivating trend was, though, the sparkling one, made of glitter, Swarovski Crystal and golden pigments. At Rodarte a thin line of crystals glued on the lower lash line made eyes stand out; a mirrorlike glitter was splashed across false lashes with beads of silicone by Diane Kendal who wanted it to look like water droplets; last but not least at Dalpozo and Seem Acra lids were covered with golden pigments, for a more achievable look.

Anche le labbra sono tornate ad essere sotto i riflettori. A partire da Marc Jacobs che per l’occasione si è ispirato a una donna forte, come Diana Vreeland, e ha optato per sottolineare il tutto con una sfumatura profonda di melanzana. Nuance rosso scure si sono viste invece da 3.1 Phillip Lim, Houghton NYC, Carolina Herrera e Naeem Khan.
Lips were back in the spotlight as well and if at Marc Jacobs were painted in a deep eggplant shade, the real star of the season was the oxblood nuance seen at 3.1 Phillip Lim, Houghton NYC, Carolina Herrera and Naeem Khan.

Rimanendo in tema “oso non oso” un altro trend emergente dalle passerelle newyorkese è stato il ritorno ai grafismi sugli occhi. Alleati eyeliner di ogni genere da Suno, DKNY, Badgley Mischka, Proenza Schouler e Dion Lee lo sguardo è finito sotto i riflettori. Da Dion Lee, ad esempio, gli occhi si sono vestiti di un tratto squadrato e blu elettrico made by Val Garland, da Proenza Schouler, invece, Diane Kendal ha creato una macchia astratta applicando il Cromacake nero di Mac Cosmetics con l’indice, dall’angolo interno dell’occhio verso l’esterno.
Daring more than usual, this year eyeliner was picked out as another emerging trend in the form of graphic designs on the eyes. The gaze was in the spotlight at Suno, DKNY, Badgley Mischka, Dion Lee and Proenza Schouler. At Dion Lee electric blue replaced the classic black dressing the eye with a squared stroke made by Val Garland while at Proenza Schouler, Diane Kendal created something that recalled the abstract expressionism seen in the collection applying Mac Cosmetics black Chromacake with her forefinger in the inner corner of the eye and then flicking it across.

Sempre giochi grafici ma questa volta in punta di mani si sono visti da Adam Selman, Prabal Gurung, Jeremy Scott e Cushnie et Ochs dove, in quest’ultimo show, gli smalti di Christian Louboutin hanno dato vita a una fashion nail di tutto punto.
Back to graphic games, manicure were in the spotlights at Adam Selman, Prabal Gurung and Jeremy Scott. The most stylish one was seen at Cushnie et Ochs, where Christian Louboutin polishes gave life to the perfect fashion-nail.

A chiudere il cerchio della creatività, manicure sottotono si sono viste invece da Alexander Wang, Dion Lee, DKNY, Altuzarra, Diane Von Fustenberg, Brock Collection e Noon by Noor. L’obiettivo di cotanta semplicità? Non rubare la scena agli abiti e ai beauty look e forse, semplificare la vita alle girls che non hanno il tempo di cambiare smalto e pattern ogni giorno.
To close the creativity circle, muted nails were seen at Alexander Wang, Dion Lee, DKNY, Altuzarra, Diane Von Furstenberg, Brock Collection and Noon by Noor. The goal of such great simplicity? Not stealing the show to dresses and beauty looks, and perhaps make life easier for those girls that don’t have time to change enamel and patterns every day.

Un’hairstyle approssimativo, quasi nomade, ha preso il sopravvento da BCBG Max Azria, Nada Cashmere, Tory Burch, 3.1 Phillip Lim e Opening Ceremony mentre nei backstage di Cushnie et Ochs, Suno, Derek Lam, Tanya Taylor, Carolina Herrera e Derek Lam gli hairstylist si sono sbizzariti con elastici contemporanei, barrette bespoken, forcine decorative, corde argentate e fermagli improvvisati stile Anni Settanta. Da Honor e Richard Chai Love hanno invece vinto le care vecchie fasce, declinate per il prossimo inverno in versione metallica o semplicemente nera.
