The beauty revolution at Gucci Fall 2015

There has been a big change at the creative direction of Gucci, we all know that, what we didn’t expect instead was the huge transformation seen in the beauty look. Forget all you know about the Gucci woman, from next season there will be no more smoky eyes and polished hairstyle but a younger street style version of it with barely there makeup and rumpled waves highlighted sometimes by flashes of pink.

Dimenticate tutto quello che pensavate di sapere su Gucci e dite addio alla sua donna glamour: dalla prossima stagione a prendere il sopravvento non saranno più hairstyle sofisticati e smoky eyes bensì visi freschi e capelli stropicciati da una notte di sonno e, talvolta, anche sfumati di rosa.

Next Generation 2015: the creative authenticity of the beauty looks

Ad aprire la settima della moda milanese quest’anno ci ha pensato Next Generation, il contest promosso dalla Camera della Moda finalizzato a promuovere gli stilisti emergenti. In passerella hanno sfilato le creazioni di quattro giovani - Luca Lin, Alessandro Canti e Gianluca Viscomi, Deyse Cottini e Claudio Cotugno - che si sono distinti non solo per la loro abilità sartoriale ma anche per la capacità di creare un look a 360˚. Ad aiutarli al loro debutto, MAC Cosmetics e Testanera che hanno messo a loro disposizione un team di professionisti che li ha accompagnati nella creazione del total look.

Wearable Beauty at Burberry Fall 2015

Echoing the folkie theme of the Burberry Fall 2015 show, the beauty look was all about being lived-in and wearable, not too solid at all, with a flawless complexion, velvety smoky eyes, bare matte lips and effortless waves.

Riprendendo il tema folk della sfilata di Burberry, il beauty look per il prossimo inverno è stato pensato come qualcosa di vissuto e portabile, qualcosa di non troppo costruito, fatto di un’incarnato omogeneo, smoky eyes vellutati, labbra nude e matte e di chiome leggermente mosse. Il tutto riprendendo esclusivamente una palette di colori naturali.

There was a certain ludic joy in Jeremy Scott’s beauty look for Fall 2015 that perfectly backed up the nursery rhyme-inspired collection for grown-up girls. From the neon eye design to the acrylic painted bobbed wigs, everything was an ode to childhood, translated in a technicolor, festive dream.

Un mondo ludico, quello del prossimo inverno di Jeremy Scott, fatto di colori flashy che vestono gli occhi fino alle sopracciglia in un bizzarro eye-design e che tingono parrucche sbarazzine. A very natural vibe was spotted backstage at Jason Wu for next Fall 2015. Natural but still controlled was traduced in a loose blow-out with flat top and tousled lengths and in a very consumer friendly makeup, with fresh and beautiful shining faces.

Naturale ma controllato, questa la parola d’ordine per il look hair and make-up del prossimo inverno di Jason Wu. Capelli morbidi e visi freschi hanno tenuto testa alla collezione mettendola in risalto con un elegante effetto I-woke-up-like-this.

For next fall, BCBG Max Azria played with a nomadic look, with a traveller woman that gets effortlessly ready in a tent, not thinking about makeup or hairstyle, and that face the world with bare skin, bitten lips and hair tucked-in in turtlenecks or other layers.

Per il prossimo Inverno, BCBG Max Azria punta tutto su un look nomade, su una donna viaggiatrice che pensa poco al makeup o all’hairstyle e che, nell’uscire di corsa dalla tenda che rappresenta la sua casa si veste di toni nudi, con labbra appena sottolineate da un rossetto prugna per un effetto “mordicchiato” e capelli nature che rimangono intrappolati in sciarpe o colli alti.

Armani Privé Spring 2015: bamboo is the watchword

Giorgio Armani looked to the orient for its 10th Privè show - with bamboo setting the scene (and the hairstyle) and reflecting in dresses and makeup in a muted colour palette of greys, blue and sage green. The concept of “nature seen through culture” is translated by Giorgio Armani’s international makeup artist Linda Cantello in diaphanous complexions and translucent strokes of gold and sky blue eyeshadow, while hairstylist Odile Gilbert molded the models’ ponytails into stalks of bamboo.

Giorgio Armani volge lo sguardo ad oriente per la sua decima linea di Haute Couture e sceglie il bamboo come trait d’union del total look, a voler rappresentare la donna forte e aggraziata che più esprime la sua idea di moda. Dalla scenografia agli abiti, senza dimenticare make-up e hairstyle, il bamboo si riflette dunque in una tenue palette di sfumature di verde e malva, di beige naturali e del blu Cina, in incarnati diafani e tratti leggeri, quasi acquerellati, di ombretto fluido dorato e celeste e in hairstyle rigidi come gli steli della pianta orientale.

Haute Couture Spring 2015: Flower power - the Chanel Way

Flower Power, in stile Karl Lagerfeld, per la sfilata Chanel Haute Couture Printemps-Eté 2015. Nel contesto immancabilmente grandioso di un flower market fatto di origami surreali e fiori meccanici, le modelle hanno portano in passerella hairstyle degni di nota fissati (sotto notevoli copricapi con tanto di tulle e velette) in morbide trecce chiuse sul fondo da delicati fiori di stoffa. Sotto tutto questo grandeur spuntano ammiccanti labbra rosa-tulipano (per non perdere il fil rouge floreale) e sguardi avvolti in una nuvola taupe cha asseconda alla perfezione il mood stravagante dello spettacolo.

At Chanel Haute Couture Spring 2015, models walked down the runway with their hair secured (under remarkable hats) with a strip of mesh or woven into a loose braid, fastened at the end with delicate fabric flowers. Peeking out from all this grandeur tulip-pink lips looked absolutely striking whereas the heavy band of taupe shadow that was swathed around eyes and brows accompanied perfectly the whimsical mood of the show.

Glossy eyes and standout red lips @ ZAC Posen SS2015

Forget romanticism, Zac Posen SS2015 show was all about power and sexiness. White, black, and red were the only colors in the collection, and each was shown tonally. Kabuki, for Mac Cosmetics, did the same and put the focus on standout red lips and high-shine glossy eyes with black black lashes.
